Noted artist and photographer, Carlie Collier, will present a lecture and slide presentation entitled The Photographer's Eye on Saturday March 10th on behalf of the Tappahannock Artist's Guild.  The presentation will include an overview of Ms. Collier's work and will address her photographic techniques such as seeing versus looking, light, composition, placement, personal forms of expression and vantage point.

Ms. Collier is a native of the Northern Neck.  She attended St. Margaret's School in Tappahannock for six years and earned a Bachelors and a Masters in Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She has been the recipient of numerous awards, fellowships and honors and has lectured and taught at Virginia Commonwealth University, J Sargeant Reynolds Community College, the Women's Resource Center (University of Richmond), Mary Washington College and the Hand Workshop Art Center.

Ms. Collier's presentation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in Room 172 at the Warsaw Campus of the Rappahannock Community College.  The charge for the presentation is $20.00.  Registration and additional information may be obtained at the Tappahannock Artists Guild, 200 Prince Street or by calling 804-246-1584.
