Gloucester County Parks, Recreation and Tourism  is preparing to launch a Gloucester Blueways Water Trail for kayaking and canoeing enthusiasts.  On Monday, February 27th, 7:00 pm in the Community Room at the Main Street Library boaters, the general public and media are invited to attend a meeting to gather input for the trails.  A Gloucester Blueways Committee has been formed and is seeking additional members.  Thus fat the committee is composed of members from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Mathews Blueways, Bay Country Kayaking LLC, Gloucester County Planning and Parks, Recreation, Tourism and other citizens.

A power point presentation will include photos of potential locations under consideration for inclusion on the trail.  Public input is being sought on the sites and on information to include the print and web promotional materials.  The goal is to have the printed map guide of water trails and maps posted to the web site for download available by Saturday, October 13th and featured at the annual Dragon Run Day Event held at Thousand Trails Campground.  For additional information please contact Gloucester Tourism at 804-693-0014.
