"This was the biggest Market Days ever!", said Art Dubey, Chairman of the committee. He walked around the event and every vender said they were doing well with selling their products. Some food venders were planning to stay for the street dance but had to close early, around 5 or 6 p.m. on Saturday because they were sold out! Mathews Market Days Posters were sold out by 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. There were a total of 325 posters. Within two days, they were gone. Thank you for your purchases.
Karaoke was a big hit this year. We love this with all our participants! They are so good!
Buttons was elated this year with 30 pet entries! She said "I couldn't have done it without the help of Lyn Layer, Mim Tilton and Christina Loomis", whom assisted her this year. Buttons said "I take something home with me each year, this year was a lizzard dressed in a batman costume." She absolutely loves what she does and every pet was awarded.
Our 2nd Chairman, Barbara Bass, said she had over 30 entries for the canned food and craft fair.
Paul James, spokesman for The Show and Shine Car Show said they raised $440.00, which proceeds went to CHKD. The winners are as follows: Best in Show winner: Donna Christenbury 1957 Cadillac Coupe deVille, club: no name car club / also Sheriff's Pick, Best Paint: Lewis Pearce 1970 Ford Mustang, Best Engine: Herve Ouellette 1973 Datsun 240Z, 1st place - Larry Corson 1939 Chevrolet Sedan, 2nd place - A. A. Nelson / also Mayor's Pick 1940 Chevrolet Pick-up, 3rd place - Larry Waislo 1956 Chevrolet 210.
