Help the Virginia Historical Society get students excited about history by making a gift to the Youth Education Fund before Labor Day. Print E-mail

Teachers are making their decisions now about which field trips to take this school year.  The Virginia Historical Society wants to be on their list of places to visit to help them put a "face" to the history that they teach in the classroom. The Youth Education Fund enables all students in public, private, and home schools to enjoy field trips to the VHS.  With your help, we can provide educational programs and tours of our exhibitions, along with pre-visit and follow-up teaching materials for various educational programs during the upcoming school year. I've seen kids get excited about learning when we study the Powhatan people in eastern Virginia, the Civil War and how it tore a new nation apart, or how families migrated west to make a better life for themselves.  We help make history come alive for them, and they are fascinated by it. Every donation helps, and no amount is too small.  Your contribution to the Youth Education Fund will ensure that, come field trip time, the bus is full and no child is left behind. donate now

Sincerely,

Chris Van Tassell Program Coordinator
