Museum to be open daily following grand opening, with extended gallery hours on Thursday evenings
When the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts re-opens May 1, it will welcome visitors every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended gallery hours until 9 p.m. on Thursdays evenings.
In addition, beginning July 1 the museum will also be open on Friday evenings until 9 p.m.
"These added days and hours will greatly increase our accessibility to new audiences and provide many more opportunities for events, dining and shopping," says VMFA Director Alex Nyerges. "I am pleased the VMFA Trustees welcomed this recommendation and that we will be able to provide this level of access."
