Get Involved!
With the holidays behind us (for now), some of you may be trying to meet a new goal for 2012, be it a New Year's resolution, trying something new, or just starting fresh. It's always a good feeling to get rid of items you don't use anymore, as it cleanses your space- and your soul! From donating items, recycling electronics, cutting back on appliance usage or volunteering for a clean-up with a local organization, the River Country provides many opportunities to donate, recycle, conserve and preserve the precious lands, wetlands and rivers that surround us. Here are some local businesses and organizations in the River Country to check out and get you started.
Northern Neck Soil and Water Conservation District
Their mission is to protect and conserve soil and water and natural resources. They are coordinating a Regional School Recycling Initiative that needs citizen volunteers to help promote recycling. Call or visit their website to participate and learn more.
