The Mathews County Historical Society is pleased to announce the 4th Historic House Tour to be held from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Saturday, June 13, 2009—rain or shine. This year's tour will feature five distinctive and lovely homes. Fitchett's Wharf, Ivison, King's Gift, The Cottage, and The Inn at Tabb Creek plus Tompkins Cottage and other points of interest will be open. Tickets $25 ($20 in advance for orders received before May 31). Proceeds from this event will provide funding to further the efforts to preserve, restore, and protect the rich heritage of Mathews County and to educate through such projects as Tompkins Cottage, New Point Light House, Fort Nonsense, and the Mathews Archives.
