Description: Hitting the road is nothing new to the Guthrie family. Making music and visiting The American Theatre is now a Guthrie family tradition! This 2009-10 tour officially introduces the fourth generation of Guthries to the concert stage. Woody’s great-grand children. The entire family will be performing songs that they’ve written, learned together and come to love. Along with Arlo’s standards, the evening will include a selection of recently re-discovered Woody Guthrie lyrics put to music by friends and family. Woody actually joins in with newly found recordings from the Woody Guthrie Archives. The evening also includes a tribute to another great musical legacy – the Carter Family whose songs and music have inspired and informed Woody and the Guthries for years.
